CREED, IIT Ropar Conducts Energy Audit at Vergo Pharma Research Laboratory under RAMP Programme in Goa
Audit supported by DITC, Government of Goa identifies practical opportunities for energy cost reduction, solar integration and carbon mitigation at Verna-based pharma research facility.
Verna, Goa: CREED, IIT Ropar has successfully conducted an energy audit at Vergo Pharma Research Labs Pvt. Ltd., Verna, Goa, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme, with the support of DITC, Government of Goa.
The CREED energy auditing team from IIT Ropar carried out detailed energy assessment activities at the facility. The audit focused on understanding how electricity is being used across major utility systems and identifying practical measures that can reduce operating cost while supporting reliable facility performance.
The assessment covered electricity bill analysis, demand pattern review, solar rooftop potential, chiller plant performance, AHU temperature and dew point control, compressed air system performance, power factor correction, fan efficiency and cooling tower observations.

For a pharma research facility, energy efficiency is directly linked to operating cost, utility reliability and sustainable growth. The recommendations provide Vergo Pharma with a phased roadmap – starting from low-cost operational improvements and moving towards capital investment measures such as solar PV and equipment upgrades.
The audit demonstrates how the RAMP Programme can help MSMEs and industrial facilities in Goa convert energy data into actionable improvements, supporting both cost competitiveness and decarbonisation.
