Back then (early ‘80s) the ferry to Goa Konkan Shakti and Konkan Sevak, offered a chance of a break from buses and trains. Original name of Konkan Shakti ship was ‘Sarita’ belonged to Chowgule Steamship. It also owned three vessels then, Konkan Sevak, Sarita and Rohini in the 70s Unfortunately Rohini sunk near Malvan after hitting a rock.
